Redragon Drivers Not Working? Download and Fix for Win 10 & 11

REDRAGON K617 FIZZ
Redragon software download - configure RGB and DPI on Redragon keyboards and mice

Short answer: A fresh Redragon software download from the official page, running the installer as administrator, and plug your device directly into a USB port on the PC — not a hub. That fixes the issue for most people. Full steps and less common fixes are below.

The Redragon software handles RGB lighting, macro programming, DPI adjustment, and firmware for keyboards, mice, and headsets. It is available free from Redragon Sri Lanka’s driver download page.

Where to download Redragon software

The official Redragon software download page is at redragon.com/pages/software. From there, select your device category (keyboard, mouse, headset) and download the installer for your model.

If you bought your Redragon device in Sri Lanka, the software is the same global version — your device will be detected regardless of where it was purchased.

You can also go directly to Redragon Sri Lanka’s driver download page for direct links to each software category.

How to install Redragon software on Windows 10 and 11

  1. Download the correct software for your device from the link above.
  2. Right-click the .exe installer file and select Run as administrator. This is required on Windows 11 and recommended on Windows 10.
  3. If Windows Defender SmartScreen shows a warning (“Windows protected your PC”), click More info then Run anyway. This is normal for software from smaller publishers.
  4. Follow the on-screen steps. Do not unplug your device during installation.
  5. Once installed, plug your Redragon device directly into a USB port on your PC chassis — not a USB hub, USB splitter, or front-panel port.
  6. Open the Redragon software. Your device should appear in the dashboard within a few seconds.

Antivirus note: Some antivirus programs flag Redragon software during installation because it includes a keyboard/mouse driver that monitors input. This is expected behaviour for gaming peripheral software. If installation fails or the program is deleted after install, add an exception for the Redragon software folder in your antivirus settings and reinstall.

Redragon software not detecting your device

This is the most common issue. Work through these steps in order:

  1. Try a different USB port. Use a USB port directly on your motherboard (rear panel), not a front-panel port, USB hub, or monitor USB passthrough. Front-panel ports often have lower power delivery.
  2. Unplug, wait 10 seconds, plug back in. The software sometimes needs the device reconnected after it launches.
  3. Restart the software as administrator. Right-click the Redragon software in your taskbar or Start menu and choose Run as administrator.
  4. Check Windows Device Manager. Press Win + X, select Device Manager, and look under Human Interface Devices or Keyboards / Mice. If your device shows a yellow warning triangle, uninstall it from Device Manager, unplug the device, restart your PC, then plug back in.
  5. Reinstall the software. Uninstall the current version via Control Panel → Programs, restart your PC, then download and install the latest version fresh.
  6. Check for Windows updates. Some USB driver issues on Windows 11 were resolved in cumulative updates. Run Windows Update and restart before trying again.

Redragon keyboard software issues

RGB lighting not saving after restart

Most Redragon keyboards store lighting profiles in onboard memory. In the software, look for an option labelled Save to hardware or a save/export button before closing. If lighting resets on restart, the profile was only saved in the software, not written to the keyboard’s memory.

Macros not working

Macros require the software to be running in the background. Check that the Redragon software is set to start with Windows (look in the software’s settings or in Windows Task Manager → Startup tab). Also confirm that the macro is assigned to a key and that the correct profile is active.

Key remapping not registering

After remapping keys in the software, click Apply before closing the window. If the remapping still does not work, save the profile to hardware and reconnect the keyboard.

Redragon mouse software issues

DPI settings not saving

DPI profiles are stored either in the software or in onboard mouse memory. After adjusting DPI in the software, look for a Save to hardware option. If the mouse loses its DPI setting after reconnecting, the setting was not written to hardware memory.

For a full explanation of DPI — what it means, what settings work for FPS versus MOBA games, and how to change DPI without software — read our complete mouse DPI guide.

Mouse buttons not responding to macros

Same as keyboards: the software needs to be running. Set it to launch on Windows startup. Confirm the correct profile is selected in the software.

Redragon headset software issues

7.1 surround sound not working

7.1 surround on Redragon USB headsets requires the Redragon software to be running. The 7.1 effect is processed in software, not hardware. Open the software, navigate to your headset, and enable 7.1 surround. Note: 7.1 only works when the headset is connected via USB — not via the 3.5mm audio jack.

Mic not recognised after software install

After installing headset software, go to Windows Sound settings → Input and set the Redragon headset as the default input device. Some installers do not set this automatically.

Frequently asked questions

Is Redragon software free?

Yes. Redragon software is free to download from redragon.com/pages/software. There is no paid version or subscription.

Does Redragon software work on Windows 11?

Yes. All current Redragon software versions are compatible with Windows 11. Run the installer as administrator to avoid permission issues.

Does Redragon software work on Mac?

No. The Redragon software for RGB and macro configuration is Windows-only. On Mac, Redragon keyboards and mice function as standard HID devices — keys and buttons work, but RGB lighting stays at the default mode and macros cannot be programmed.

What if my Redragon device is not listed in the software?

Download the software for the closest matching product category (keyboard, mouse, or headset). Some older models are not individually listed but work with the general category software. If the device still does not appear, check whether a firmware update is available on the Redragon global support page.

Can I use Redragon software without the device plugged in?

The software opens without the device connected, but you cannot modify profiles unless the device is detected. If you want to pre-configure a profile, some models allow you to create profiles in the software and transfer them when the device is next connected.
